Park weapons don’t come much purer than CAPiTA's The Outsiders. Every inch of it is designed for the jumps and rails, and not the ride-on features either. If you have the nerve for the pro line, this is the kind of thing you need under your feet.
"The camber profile mellows out into short, flat sections at the contact points, giving you a slightly less twitchy ride without trading off any pop"
The camber profile mellows out into short, flat sections at the contact points, giving you a slightly less twitchy ride without trading off any pop. The carving purist may prefer something more traditional, but that’s not who this board is aimed at anyway.
No, the CAPiTA The Outsiders is for the true-twin fan who needs something powerful, light and fast, so that no knuckle is too distant and no trick too techy. The upgraded sintered base gets you the speed you need, and the twin carbon rods deliver the ollie power when it’s time to explode off the lip. The maple core can soak up the big landings, and the whole thing is fused together with love and precision at CAPiTA’s own factory, the Mothership.
Sadly the size range has been pared back for 2017/18, so those looking for a wide version will be left disappointed. For everyone else, however, CAPiTA's The Outsiders is ready to deliver.
"This was as fun as it looks: nimble, soft and playful without straying into ‘noodle’ territory. I found it to be noticeably lighter than most boards on the market, which – alongside that inviting flex – made it very easy to ollie.
"Such an agile set-up is obviously suited to park tricks, but it also turns well on hardpack."
Such an agile set-up is obviously suited to park tricks, but it also turns well on hardpack. At super high speed, however, I encountered some chatter in the nose – a natural trade-off for all that light-weight springiness, and one I suspect its target audience will happily accept."
