Best Bucket Hats for Snowboarding 2015 2016

Spring shred may still be a little way off, but no doubt there are plenty of keen people already on the lookout for threads and accessories to stock up on – so, despite the humble bucket hat’s ability to divide opinions, we’ve sought out a pile from snowboard brands the world over, giving you a little head start on your search.

Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee these particular headwear options will make you any better at snowboarding, or give you any advantage over the person next to you whatsoever, but if that was the sole basis upon which snowboarders make purchasing decisions, we’d probably have adopted aerodynamic spandex suits by now – and thank god things haven’t gone that way just yet…

686 Men’s Shady Bucket Hat

Everyone loves a stash pocket, and lest you not have enough, 686 have loaded their Shady Bucket hat with one just below the vents. The black colourway shown here is a classic, but it also comes in two-tone, red and blue (‘Cardinal’) or orange and blue (‘Orange’) colourways too.

Airblaster Air Bucket Hat

Airblaster are famed for fun and there are heaps of patterned colourways with the Airblaster Air bucket hat – including two produced in collaboration with High Cascade Snowboard Camp – where no doubt you’ll find heaps of these on show.

Analog Jungle Bucket Hat

Added practicality and a very reasonable price from Analog for this one, it features a weather wash that’s water repellant, and has a tidy chin strap to keep it attached when you’re riding. The Acid Camo colourway is pretty out there (check link below for images) or you can go more conventional with the Water Camo option shown above.

Brixton Banks Bucket Hat

Two hats in one! You might pay a premium for products from Cali brand Brixton, but they deliver in terms of quality. This one features a cotton herringbone on one side, and waxed cotton canvas on the other. If you don’t fancy the high price it’s worth delving into colours from past seasons in search of a bargain.

Coal Spackler Bucket Hat

With two camo options as well as classic black – and leather patches on all three, the Coal Spackler is certainly a classy number. Coming in from the perennially popular Coal collection, it features an adjustable chin strap and side venting – and it’s made from ripstop cotton to help you keep it in your collection for years.

DaKine Boonie Bucket Hat

Boonie’s are the military-inspired wider brimmed cousin of the bucket hat – but they give a similar effect. This Boonie from DaKine has a clear nod to its roots with webbing detail around the head – as well as the ever-useful adjustable chinstrap and venting.
