According to Salomon, the Launch “sets the bar high and keeps the price tag low” – which could also be a description of the brand as a whole. We’d call it one of the better-looking boots in the WL100, with an awesome black/denim combo and bold red laces.
Away from aesthetics it’s got a soft flex that’s best suited to freestylers, as is the ‘Flightweight’ sole that’s low in both profile and weight. It also features Salomon’s ‘Mystic’ footbed, which has apparently been designed in conjunction with podiatrists in order to keep your feet happy all day. The Zonelock speed lace let you alter the tightness of the lower and upper areas separately, and there are other options should you prefer a different system – a fat-lace option is available for the same price, while the Salomon Launch Boa comes in at an even £200.
