The Ivy is another of Salomon’s versatile mid-range boots, and in the last few years has been one of the more popular models in its women’s range. The simple QuickLock lacing system is designed to get you going in no time, creating a solid and comfortable fit with just one pull on the top of the boot.
It’s one of the more reliable speed lace configurations out there, and so won’t need re-tightening halfway through the day. The liner on this one is the higher-spec version of Salomon’s Halo, specifically designed for a woman’s foot to maximise comfort and warmth. It’s heat-mouldable, although only at the parts where a custom fit is needed most, leaving the remainder to provide support. Heel lift is taken care of with the built-in ‘STR8JKT’ heel harness, and the Trinity sole – a female-specific version of the skate-shoe-inspired Lo-Fi – brings board feel to the fore. Again, another twenty quid will get you the Boa variant.
