Northwave boots have been around since 1991, and have garnered a reputation for being high-performance without being high-cost. The Decade is no exception, and remains the brand’s top selling boot. It sits towards the stiffer end of Northwave’s range, but is aimed at the freestyle fan rather than the all-out freerider.
In fact, it’s the boot of choice for much of the company’s pro team, including Victor De Le Rue and Alvaro Vogel. The progressive flex allows for big tweaks without sacrificing support, and it boasts Northwave’s most advanced liner, the T3. Another important feature is the ‘540 o’ webbing heel retention system, which uses webbing to keep the fit snug around the back of the foot and rule out the dreaded ‘heel-lift’. Plenty to appeal, then – and if this colourway doesn’t do it for you there are three others to choose from.
