Nike’s first goggle was released last season, a limited-release Dragon colab as worn by Jamie Nicholls. This year the Nike Vision department is branching out on its own, and doing it in style too. The Nike Command features a Transition lens that automatically adjust to the light that it’s exposed to.
The technology doesn’t come cheap, and that shouldn’t come as a surprise given that it’s also used in fighter pilots’ visors – who, to be fair, are rarely in a position to swap out their lens, no matter how quick the system. A few of the Whitelines team had a shot of these on very changeable days, and there’s no doubt that the technology works. Just as much care has gone into the frame and venting so if you can part with the money, you won’t be disappointed by what you get.
