Nidecker Escape 2014-2015 Snowboard Review

The Details:

Ready for battle? The all-terrain Nidecker Escape is a solid board with a natural aesthetic that’ll help carry you safely through whatever the mountain throws at you.

It’s a twin shape board with a set back stance and a directional Freeride Camrock profile – with camber between the feet for stability, a long rocker in the nose for float, and a smaller rocker in the tail to make it stable but manoeuvrable.

It does come in on the heavier side – with impact resistant heavy-duty steel edges, shock absorbers and triax glass adding to the durable construction – but if you’re looking for an all terrain charger that doesn’t break the bank, this could be worth a try.

The Review:

“This board is definitely solid – which has its advantages and disadvantages. On the pro-side it’s going to be pretty unbreakable and could easily last you a few years – and it certainly can blast through the crud. The downside is that it’s just that bit heavier which you immediately notice when you try to pop off rollers and side hits.

Although it’s clearly meant to be pointed, and does have a sintered base – I found that especially on the cat-tracks this didn’t quite have the pace that I was looking for – but if you’re looking for something solid and stable this definitely hits the criteria.” – Andrew Duthie
