Packing a whole lot of tech, and holding its award winning status high, the Never Summer Infinity women’s snowboard is not one to be sniffed at. It’s a powerful but forgiving all terrain ripper that threatens to do it all and take you along for the ride too.
The source of this ‘best of both worlds’ formula is – you guessed it – a combo profile that blends camber and rocker; engaging the parts of the board you need, when you need them.
The rocker comes into play between the feet – governing the overall feel, so that your imperfections aren’t punished too harshly, and making backcountry float as simple as it should be. Then mini camber zones take affect outside of the bindings to maximise your edge hold and give you plenty of pop.
When you look into the board construction, there’s a whole heap of features behind the Infinity: a full wrap metal edge adds durability – especially paired with p-tex tip and tail protection, they’ve thrown in a sintered base for speed, and carbon V shaped laminates to transfer power from the bindings to each effective edge. ‘Elastomeric Rubber Stabilizers’ top the list of crackpot names in a long list, but they’re actually in place to provide damping and reduce foot fatigue – which is nice.
“This board is a bit pricey at £450, but girls it is worth every penny. This morning I took it out in quite icy conditions, and it was super responsive – I didn’t catch an edge, I didn’t fall, and actually I was really confident riding it. With the spec and the cost of the board, I would probably say that it’s designed for the more advanced female riders – so if you’re just starting out, it might not be the board for you. But I’m done talking about it, I’m getting my shred back on!” – Lauren Lidford
