Lobster Snowboards is the brainchild of Halldor and Eiki Helgason, who allegedly threw the company together in a couple of weeks. Hastily conceived it may have been, but their boards are now ridden (and enjoyed) the world over.
Part of their appeal comes from the Triple Base Technology, licensed from Bataleon to provide the response and pop of camber with less edge catches. The Jibboard – just one of an incredibly Ronseal-inspired line of names that also includes the Parkboard, Freestyleboard and Youthboard – unsurprisingly features the ‘Jib’ calibration of TBT, which boasts a bigger centre section to make presses easier. Elsewhere it’s a soft twin deck that’s designed for park features and street rails. It’s possibly a bit too flimsy for massive kickers and halfpipes, but it’ll definitely deliver elsewhere.
