The Burton Highline Boa wire system has been used in snowboard boots for over a decade, and is the method of choice for those who like to get going quickly. You’ll find it here on the Highline, a new boot for the 2014/15 season that’s designed with the intermediate rider in mind.
The system is pretty Marmite – not everyone gets on with it – but the coil has been upgraded this year so is worth a look even if you’ve been put off Boas in the past. The boot itself is forgiving and playful, coming alive when being thrown off side-hits but with enough support to handle piste just fine too. Extra comfort comes from the ‘Dynolite’ sole that boasts increased cushioning, as well as the same undersole warming tech seen in the Ion. If you hate breaking boots in then this is definitely one to consider, as the Total Comfort Construction is designed to make the boot feel “just as good from day 1 to 100”.
