Twenty-Two – New Photo Book Explores Trauma And Recovery

"Twenty-Two is a call to action for all of us to spend more time outdoors"

As a rule, we tend to stay away from reporting on crowdfunders. More often than not, they only exist to offer a glimmer of hope to ideas that, for understandable reasons, haven’t secured funding by traditional means.

There is an exception, however, where crowdfunding makes a whole lot more sense. It’s passion projects that aren’t all about the moolah – such as Twenty-Two, a new photo book by former pro rider Hamish Duncan.

“A personal collection of photographs documenting his recovery from a nasty slam in 2004 – and the resulting trauma, both physical and mental”

In collaboration with the Dan Adams Design studio, he’s put together a personal collection of photographs documenting his recovery from a very nasty slam in 2004 – and the resulting trauma, both physical and mental.

The book is part of the CALM Photography Movement which, as Hamish explains, “has been founded to help men express their emotions and provoke conversation through the medium of photography whilst raising awareness for CALM, an award winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide – the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK.”

You can visit the Twenty-Two Kickstarter page to find out more about the book, or to place your order. There are options to get the book on its own, or bundle it in with sticker packs and limited edition prints.
