6 Sensational Slash Shots

THE HUMBLE SLASH TAKES CENTRE STAGE

Just turning your board can be progression. Snowboarding’s oldest trick is the turn.

– Jake Blauvelt

It’s all well and good being able to send down a double or a triple cork. Progression blah blah blah.

But just because a trick is harder it doesn’t mean it’s any better. Sometimes the simplest things are the best things. It’s etched in history – Velcro, post-it notes, the wheel – none of them are going out of fashion any time soon.

There’s a reason so many snowboarding photographs are of the humble slash. It is an art form: the art of turning on snow with the aim of kicking up the biggest rooster tail possible for maximum steeze points. It looks good, it feels good and Isn’t that the whole point of riding?

Here’s 6 of our favourite slashes from the last couple of years for your viewing pleasure. A visual feast of simplicity!
