Red Bull Nanshan Open Results

The 4Star TTR 8th Red Bull Nanshan Open came to a close yesterday in China, with Juuso Laivisto (FIN) coming away with the top prize. Snowboarding is blowing up in China now and this was evident by the level of riding shown by the local riders. Out of the local riders in qualification, Wang Lei was on top form in the end joining the invited riders in Sundays final.

The judges decided that Juuso Laivisto (FIN), David Bertschinger Karg (SUI), Sergey Lapushkin (RUS), and Nick Hyne (NZ) would be the 4 riders to go through to the super final. With 900’s being put down here, there and everywhere and a huge FS1080 performed by David Bertschinger Karg the judges would have no easy time trying to separate the riders. But eventually, Juuso Laivisto shone through with a run that consisted of a switch BS9 mute, a FS720 melon, BS-to-FS boardslide on the up-down and a 50-50 180 out on the downpipe. “I’m really happy! It’s my first time in China and the resort reminds me of my home mountain, so it was kinda special to win here! This trip is so well organized and we’re all having such a good time… now where’s the beer!?”(Good boy! – Ash)
