Nike Chosen Series – France

http://mpora.com/videos/nUmqCxg6Y Last week the Nike Chosen Series descended on Chatel for the sixth stop on the tour, looking to pick up another rider to take to the secret spot session in April along with the previous five winners, including UK’s Andy Nudds.

After the Siberian-like conditions faced on the previous stop in Germany, the sun shone down on Chatel and a party atmosphere dominated, with a BBQ, beers and, most importantly, a feckin great kicker. The standard definitely seemed to have picked up a notch, either because of the riders or favourable conditions, and the qualification round saw an awesome standard of riding.

In the end the judges, including Nike rider Gerome Mathieu, managed to separate the riders and named the winners. Maxence Tevelle took Most Creative with a BS 180 double tailgrab, hand drags on the Nike bonk and frontflips off the knuckle while Romuald Bouche took Best Style with switch back 1s, 5s and 9s. The undisputed winner, though, was 18 year old Frenchman Enzo Nilo who threw down an array of bangers including corked 7s both ways and a switch back 9, who will represent France in the final. The female rider of the day was Marion Haerty, rewarded for her smooth back and front 1s. Unfortunately, there were no prizes for Burton Hi 5 winner Lewis Sonvico, who was representing the Brits in Chatel.

The tour heads next to the sunny slopes of Spain (well Andorra really but lets not get into politics) for the seventh stop of the tour on February 18.
