If you want a wacky event, just ask the Kiwis to put it on. This comp in Treble Cone, New Zealand takes three rad ideas and smashes them into one.
Starting off with a timed bank slalom, through a gnarly gully no less, the riders then take part in an off-piste ‘expression session’ where marks are also awarded for making the judges laugh before going straight into a Chinese downhill. Somehow the marks are all totted up and a winner is announced, but really the event is all about getting rad on the hill. Yeah NZ!
