Torgeir Bergrem lands the world’s first Triple Cork 1620

This just in! Young Norwegian park ripper Torgeir Bergrem has landed the world’s first triple cork 1620. The original video was posted on a Norwegian news site and accordingly (and a little frustratingly), is entirely in Norwegian. We’ll be sure to post an English version if and when one surfaces.

Thanks to Google Translate we’ve managed to gather that Torgeir aims to whip out the trick at next year’s Olympics in Sochi.

You may remember from the X Games in Aspen that Max Parrot attempted the same trick on the final kicker of the slopestyle course and probably has been thinking about the trick as well. Is Torgeir’s here a legit triple? That last cork could definitely do with a little more dip… but who are we to judge? It’s still freakin’ nuts.

And More to the point, has the world gone completely mad? Is this one step too far towards the (let’s face it) totally lame realm of ski aerials?
