Toby Miller – The Relentless Storm of Supergroms Continues

Marcus Kleveland might have the triple cork down, but yet another teen proving how irrelevant age is in this sport is Apo and Billabong rider, 13-year old Toby Miller. Other than the fact he can double-cork, we love the laid out backie at 1.45, the big gap-to-noseblunt at 0.16, aw heck the whole thing is just damn impressive! Kid can take a slam too (0.40)…

In the States, College football is almost bigger than the professional NFL league. It seems like groms have taken a slightly different path with snowboarding. With 14 year olds like Ayumu Hirano already dominating in the big leagues, todays teens are completely forgetting that they’re not pro’s (if they aren’t yet) and just skipping straight to being genuine competitive threats.

At the end of the day this is a sport where how tall you are is far less important than how big you go, and these youngsters aren’t in a hurry to let us forget it.

(You do wonder whether we’ll ever see teens hitting the backcountry on the same scale though, that still seems to be a taste that is acquired with age…)
