The best of Windells, summer 2012

It’s the middle of May, the snow is melting, the reservoirs are filling up and we’re preparing for the inevitable tsunami of summer camp edits. So grab your rubber dinghys and armbands because in a couple of months they’re gonna be flowing thick and fast… Not that we’re complaining, per se.

Although not the most inspiring locations (let’s face it, we all know what the Mt. Hood parks look like by now), summer camps – with their airbags, slushy snow and limitless rail features, have long been breeding grounds for some pretty progressive new tricks. Take Bode Merill’s mad inverted one-footed backside 720 from a couple seasons back for example. He landed it first at Windells and the following season he was doing it in the backcountry with Absinthe films.

Here’s a best-of edit from last year’s Windells summer camp, that acts as a little reminder as to what’s to come in the next few months. Look out for Jesse Paul’s front board to frontflip and Justin Fronius‘ ridiculous backflip double tail grab.
