Tackling Alaska with Brit Jules Pickering

There’s no doubt that Alaska is one of the gnarliest places on Earth and we don’t know many Brits, male or female, that have tackled its frostbite inducing Arctic temperatures, howling winds and exposed peaks. So when British lass Jules Pickering sent us this trailer for a new film documenting her time in Alaska, we thought it was well worth a share.

Jules claims her greatest achievement to date as being the first woman to climb and snowboard the 3 highest mountains in the Arctic Circle (on a homemade splitboard) and in her recent Alaskan adventure she attempted to make the first snowboard ascent and descent of one of the 20 highest peaks in the States: the brilliantly named Mount Bear – not to be mistaken with Bear Mountain, (which is a whole different kettle of fish)! Yes, the teaser for the Berghaus sponsored film is perhaps a little over dramatic and a bit of far cry from the Art of Flight Alaskan footage that we’re so used to seeing these days, but it also looks like interesting stuff from a different, albeit more mainstream-friendly, perspective. Nice one Jules!
