O’Neill Evolution Slopestyle – Seb Toots & Jamie Anderson Win

Seb Toots won the first ever men’s slopestyle comp at the O’Neill Evolution, while Jamie Anderson took the top spot in the women’s comp. Most excitingly of all, from Whitelines’ point of view, was the fact that the UK’s very own Aimee Fuller finished in fifth – her highest ever ranking in a 6-star contest! Aimee stomped two runs that she described as ‘safe’ beautifully, putting them down cleanly and assuring herself of a good position before going for a seven – which could potentially have put her in first – on the third run. Unfortunately, she couldn’t quite hold on to the landing. But the fifth place finish is still massive. Nice one Aimee! Up at the top of the leaderboard, the ever-steezy Jamie Anderson put down a super-stylish five to claim first, with Sarka Pancochova’s (slightly sketched) seven getting second place. Enni Rukajarvi, the Finnish lass who won last year’s TTR World Tour, got third place. The men’s comp turned into a battle of the double cork 12s, with Seb Toots, Mark McMorris and Eric Willet all stomping variations on the trick. This meant the rail half of the course was particularly important. Mark McMorris’ tail-grab 12 to tailslide-450 out on the pole-jam got him second place, while Eric Willet’s backside boardslide to 450-out left him in third.
