Burton High5 Braehead Highlights


Burton’s High5 Tour 2011 rolled onwards and upwards to Scotland last weekend, bringing Braehead’s shapers a chance to get their hands on the coveted golden shovel award. The crew had gone all out with their park – no doubt driven on by the tantalising prospect of the two Burton High5 Features and the Rude Chalets week in Morzine for the winning shaping team. As Angus Malloch explains running through the setup before hand, there’s a myriad of options which meant that when the riders stepped on course, spectators witnessed some serious sickness.

Locals like the McCormicks and Mark McClement were whipping out their best moves, and Scottish lass Orla Doolin completely dominated the women’s event. But in the end, what was remarkable was the number of finalists who hailed from south of the border – Burton’s very own Ollie Dutton and John Weatherley were both on fire! On top of that, second and third places went to two Yorkshire lads – Will Smith and Sam Turnbull respectively. But it was still a Scot who triumphed. Jamie Trinder beat all comers to take the top spot with his innovative lines and creative use of the sick setup.
