GoPro Perspectives: The Fourth Phase – Alaska With Travis Rice & E-Jack

THIS is what The Fourth Phase should have been!

[series align=’left’]If you were a little disappointed by The Fourth Phase, this might just be the antidote to get you stoked on the antics of the crew that brought you That’s It That’s All and The Art Of Flight again. From the opening shot of Travis Rice and Eric Jackson stepping out from the heli into nothing to the ender, this was the breathtaking action that many felt was missing from the majority of the main feature.

Seriously, that ender. We see a lot of edits, movies and clips here at Whitelines – it takes something really special to get us out of our seats, whooping and hollering. That did it.

“Watching him draw imaginary lines down faces before dropping was about a thousand times more compelling than general musings from the set of Life Of Pi”

In fact that riding footage, condensed into a little over ten minutes, is what (we feel) the movie should have been. Even the talking, behind-the-scenes material was interesting and a great insight into how a rider like Travis Rice operates. Watching him draw imaginary lines down faces before dropping, ordering film crews and pilots around and displaying a deep knowledge of the mountains was about a thousand times more compelling than general musings from the set of Life Of Pi.

In short, we’re stoked to see these guys’ riding take centre stage in a format that not only complements it, but a format that it deserves.
