501 Parts To See Before You Die – #8 Annie Boulanger Full Part 2013

#8 OF 501

Quebec born, BC bred.

That’s Annie Boulanger in a nutshell: the calm and steeze of the Canadian East coast mixed with the grit and gnar of the Interior backcountry. Her 2013 online part was one of the very best from the season and show’s exactly why she’s considered in such high regard amongst the industry.

Annie is out there putting out online parts for free and riding guy’s boards without so much as a backwards glance.

In a time when making a career out of riding powder as a woman is a challenge to say the least, Annie is out there putting out online parts for free and riding guy’s boards without so much as a backwards glance.

Whilst choosing these initial parts for 501 Parts to See Before You Die there’s been a lot of debate amongst the WL team, but when it came to choosing which would be the first women’s part to include there was no argument. When it was released this part showed more than any other that women can ride on a par with the guys.

From her high speed, slowly rotating backside 360s to her massive cliff drops, from chutes to pillows she slays the whole mountain. And if those don’t quite clinch it for you, the control and focus shown during the already much discussed near miss at 2.12 should – how the hell does anyone ride out of that.

Annie Boulanger is a boss. For further proof, check out our interview from last season here.
