Park Steeze vs. Loose Jibbing, Kyle Mack vs. Jonas Michilot

Two riders, two very different takes on snowboarding

This morning two edits landed in our lap and they couldn’t have been more different. We thought it would be interesting to present them together rather than posting them separately, two very divergent versions of snowboarding.

First of all we have Kyle Mack, a young slopestyle contest prodigy from the US of A who narrowly missed on qualifying for Sochi (he would have had a spot if Shaun White hadn’t entered only to drop out at the last moment, just saying…) but if he keeps riding like he is now you’ll be seeing him in Pyeongchang, for sure.

He’s put together this edit featuring a bunch of his contest footage together with some park footage he’s had the chance to film in between a pretty hectic looking schedule this winter. It’s bolts stuff, all silky smooth and buttery with even a couple of triples thrown in for good measure.

On the other end of the freestyle spectrum, we have Jonas Michilot with a new edit filmed by Chickenmeat Unlimited, the guys behind this rad Jed Anderson/Scott Stevens edit from a couple of months back.

It’s the polar opposite of what you’d expect to see from a FIS/TTR contest, loose as hell and jibbing anything that comes in his path with a heavy emphasis on doing something unique with his riding. Check that stalled-for-hours back three at the end, wowee.

So there you have two polarised versions of shredding, uber-smooth contest steeze clashing with wild jib vid chaos. On trend snow park fashion vs a neon hunting hat.

We’re not saying either is better or more valid, just showing you the range of what is possible on a board, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg…
