This video from Seven:Twenty Productions in Chamonix shows a specialised crew at work demolishing the top of one of the ski lift pylons that used to be on the Grand Montets side of the valley.

If you ever wondered what happens when a ski lift needs to be decommissioned - or even how they got there in the first place - this is it: essentially some French dude with a GoPro on his helmet hanging on for dear life until a helicopter comes in for the rescue. Like any typical day in Cham then.

It's impressive stuff, especially when the heli starts yanking the top half around to dislodge it. Makes it even more impressive that someone managed to steal an entire lift in the Chzech Republic back in 2012.
