The film-a-snowboard-video-in-a-week contest format has proved popular all over the Alps – from the legendary Jib Vid in Tignes to the annual Cavern 24/7 in Morzine – and over in Japan the F-Stop Mountain Shoot Out has just completed its third year. Here’s the winning entry from Fujii Tomohiro and his crew of riders: Masaki Kitae, Keita Yamazaki and Tsutomu Endo.
Of course, as ever, the weather didn’t play ball. As Andrew Kelly put it: “After the endless nipple-deep powder throughout this season, it was sod’s law that the week of the event saw a rain front sweep through. This made for challenging conditions for all the fimers, to say the least, but in the end it only served to show how creative they could get in four days of shooting.”
Nevertheless, Fujii and his team did put something special together considering they only had a week.
The Hachi crew, which Kyota Miyake was part of until he tragically died, still took part, and the week was dedicated to his memory.
