While the industry as a whole felt the pinch of the world's recent financial snafu, one man saw it as an opportunity to start up a hat business. Anthony Leffelaar's reasoning was this: a company founded in dark economic times has nowhere to go but up. Now, after a couple of years keeping it local, Vivo Headwear has expanded to no less than 19 countries, collaborating with Yes and Red Bull among others.

It was probably only a matter of time before the Canadian-based, Kiwi-owned, Spanish-named company went global, and the impressive snow team roster should help the brand get international reach; Kale Stephens, Marie France Roy, Markku Koski, Tadashi Fuse and Kevin Griffin are just some of the big names you'll see in Vivo hats this season.
