In a UK first the indoor snow slope, based in Castleford, near Leeds, will haul the snow over the Pennines to create the SNO!zone Off Piste area at the Cumbrian festival. The Alpine themed area will provide the ideal place to chill out after watching bands including The Streets, The Zutons and Ash and will include a 30m real snow slide and snowboard simulator as well as DJ’s playing a variety of hip-hop, reggae and summer tunes. Some of the UK’s best freestyle skiers and snowboarders will also be demonstrating their skills at the festival with a full scale rail jam.

Lisa Allan, SNO!zone’s head of marketing and brand, said: “Kendal Calling is already one of the UK’s coolest music festivals, but this year we will make a special delivery to ensure that festival goers are more chilled out than ever before. “At SNO!zone we like to prove that the warmer weather is no barrier to snow sports and we’ve lined up some fantastic snow related activities and demonstrations such as a snow slide and rail jam. “We were really impressed with both the line up and the location for this year’s Kendal Calling and our Off Piste area is set to be the ideal way to chill out between bands."

Kendal Calling takes place from 31st July to 2nd August at Lowther Deer Park on the Lowther Estate, Cumbria. The confirmed line up includes The Streets, Ash and The Zutons. Day tickets for the event cost £35 and weekend tickets cost £70 (including camping).
