And the internet goes wild!

Some of you may remember a certain hoverboard hoax video from earlier in 2014. Well now, thanks to a Hendo Kickstarter Scheme – hoverboard tech is on it’s way for real!

Well – more real than it was before at least…

The new boards, which have already sold out on all 10 of their pre-orders, currently use disc shaped engines with magnetic tech to hover one inch above the ground (subject to surfaces with the right corresponding properties…) – and for just $10,000 you could  have been one of the proud owners of their first batch which is due for release in 2015.

Judging by the lab-coat donned joy in the video above, we won’t blame you if you never touch a snowboard again.

Unfortunately – that option in Hendo’s package has predictably already been claimed by swathes of internet fanatics who have obviously been waiting specifically for this opportunity – but that shouldn’t spell despair for the rest of you. Amongst your other options are a 5 minute ride on said machine ($100), an etched plaque with your name on it in the very first Hoverboard Park ($60), or even kits to let you explore the tech involved for yourself ($300-$950)! So all hope is not lost…

Of course – you’re all welcome to ride your traditional boards until you manage to get your hands on one of these new toys – although judging by the lab-coat donned joy in the video above, we won’t blame you if you never touch a snowboard again…
