This Must Be The Place

The new offering from the ‘This Must Be The Place‘ crew has just been released on the worldwide web and whilst it might not be everyones cup of tea, it’s still a really tightly edited and fun film. You’ve got a decent recipe of good tracks and some mad rail skills in there from a host of AMs living way out west in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Its riders come in all shapes and styles in the 25 minute edit, you might recognise a few faces and names from the Nike Chosen Video Sessions in the edit which makes sense as it was ‘This Must Be The Place’ that took home second place in Austria earlier this year. It explains why the editing is so good, although the one criticism we would have is the slightly overused ramped slow-motion editing (the sound of a board on a rail in slow-motion) but when a crew are taking some of their inspiration from skate films, it’s is kind of a given.

It’s obvious to say but Andrew Aldridge’s opener was a short but sick segment for a guy who’s still trying to smash out a degree and film simultaneously. Some double nose grab to boardslide action is fairly highly rated in our opinion. It was also one of the few sections to have a bit more variety in it than just rail mastery (even if it was only 2 shots of powder ripping) Another obvious segment would have to be Jordan Morse, mad skills, ’nuff said. One of the aspects we like most about this film and even this type of film is that it doesn’t have to be a big corporate venture anymore. DIY with style. Looking forward to more from Connor Brown soon.
