Remember this Snow Porn episode from a couple of years back? Up until that point the world hadn’t really heard of thirteen year old Kyle Mack but after seeing the pint-sized rider send it off the biggest booter at Superpark people definitely sat up and took note. As we mentioned back then, it was definitely no coincidence that Burton roped Shaun White in for the intro… Two years on and Kyle’s now fifteen, is looking a little ganglier and is still killing it. Last year he placed 8th in both the Burton Candian Open halfpipe comp and the Burton High Fives slopestyle in Australia – both five-star WST events. And on top of that he won the Burton European Open Junior halfpipe comp and placed third in the slopestyle equivalent.

If you think about it there really aren’t all that many riders who’ve got double corks on lock in both the pipe and on kickers. But with so many other ridiculously talented kids coming up through the woodwork (take triple corking, air and style winning, 16 year old Yuki Kadono for example) will it be possible to stay at a podium placing level in both disciplines? Either way, we’re expecting big things from Kyle.
