Weekend Snowboards stuck their new website live recently, and it got us thinking about their main-man, Heikki Sorsa. Heikki was dropped unceremoniously by Burton last year, a move which came as a surprise to some. When we interviewed Eero Ettala last December he said: “I thought Heikki would have been one of the last guys Burton would have dropped because he has one of the best images in the Burton team.” OK so Eero’s a mate of his and probably would say that, and to be fair Heikki hadn’t done anything that really got jaws dropping and tongues wagging for a couple of years, but the dude has solid skills. He was the king of one-footers and pretty much slays anything going – check out this classic video part from Mack Dawg’s Picture This for proof. Tech urban jibbing? Check. Park steeze? Check. Backcountry booters? Check. Ah well, I suppose Weekend must be chuffed anyway…
