Friday Find – Miniature Wunderland

Remember model train-sets? You might have had one that had a single loop when you were a kid (and a bridge if you were lucky). Then you grew up and realised that the only people who actually built real ones, with characters and scenery, were slightly obsessive ageing men who hid them in the basement where nobody else could see…

Well this week’s friday find, and surely the King of geeky (but ultimately useless) accomplishments, is 1,300 m² Miniatur Wunderland, from the world leaders of attention to detail in Hamburg, Germany. This is seriously incredible, and a mind-blowing amount of time must have gone into it, but you’ve got to wonder who’s job it is to clean it, and whether they will ever get laid…
