Countdown of the Decade – Part Eight

http://mpora.com/videos/227n0eIvV The eighth part of our video roundup of the last decade takes us to 2007, when the gangsta trend that had been dominant for much of the noughties was starting to loose its lustre slightly.

Taking inspiration from the efforts of the Robotfood films, a crew called Think Thank (led by Dinosaurs Will Die supremo Sean Genovese) released a quirky film called Thanks Brain. Although these boys had been in business for three years already, starting with 2004’s Thunk, it was this film that really broke their tight-trousered style into the snowboard mainstream. Increasingly riders like Gus Engle or Scott Stevens here were beginning to make the likes of Travis Kennedy look old fashioned. Two years later and the impact of the Think Thank films is obvious – every dryslope, park or dome has its crew of tight-trousered groms, and mini-shred tricks like backflips or frontflips off everything are firm favourites again. While Scott Stevens here doesn’t have the tightest trousers in the book, the riding in this part is just so sick that we had to include it. Check it out…
