Aimee Fuller lands Double Backflip Down Under

http://mpora.com/videos/AAd9adjhudij We just got some un-believable footage of Aimee Fuller from the Red Bull Performance Camp at Snowpark NZ on the South Island of New Zealand, pretty much changing the stakes for women’s snowboarding by stomping a double backflip on a park jump. Aimee joins the pretty exclusive list of female riders to land the trick such as Elena Hight, Kimmy Fasani and Cheryl Maas ( We’re not sure if this counts but Shelly Gotlieb must have tried one before this )

Having re-watched it a fair few times, we’ve come to the agreement that its a pretty damn good double backflip. It’s not even like she’s tucking and hucking to get the flips round, it’s super laid out AND a solid landing with no bum check or hand drag. Bearing in mind Fuller is pretty happy spending life upside down, it was only a matter of time (we think) before she tried to get a double backflip in her stunt arsenal. With a bit of love from the Red Bull Airbag it seems she was keen to step it up this Summer.

With the O’Neill Pleasure Jam in Dachstein coming up where Fuller took 1st place last year, we’re all wondering when it might get thrown down in competiton? Another serving of food for thought is what is Aimee Fuller doing at a Red Bull Athletes Training Camp? Are we soon too see her donning the infamous Red Bull helmet? With the recent departure of Jamie Nicholls from the rosta, has Aimee been approached to fill the British void at the Bull?

Anyhom, enough speculation! We seriously recommend taking some time to check out the video. It includes some pretty standard New Zealand Helicopter ‘filler’ shots as well as some rad tricks from the likes of Seppe Smits, Seb Toots and Louie Vito alongside some of the Red Bull french friers…
