Pat Moore Wins Real Snow Backcountry 2014

The ginger bearded all-rounder is on fire right now!

After the storming success of Pat Moore‘s solo film with Volcom – Mr Plant – and a full feature in the current issue of WL, the beardy all-rounder is on fire right now. To top it off, he and filmer friend Jake Price just won the gold medal in this year’s X Games Real Snow Backcountry contest.

After some *ahem* controversies with the online voting system last year, instead of throwing it out to the public the winner was decided by the riders and cameramen themselves. Each competitor was allowed three votes and after a super serious discussion on avalanche safety (Jussi Ocksanen pointedly keeping his Mizu bottle in front of him at all times) Mr Plant was awarded an X Games gold. Deserved in our eyes as his part was an absolute belter.

There’s also a behind the scenes look at what went in to Pat’s filming last winter, below:

Whilst it did take a possibly unnecessary five minutes of video to explain a simple ten person voting system, it was rightly pointed out by Jake Price that it’s great to finally see the filmers being acknowledged for their work towards these contests. Yeah it is a great job, but watching the best lines getting owned from behind a lens can be a difficult experience for die hard snowboarders, respect due!
