Rider Parts

Watch Jake Blauvelt’s latest full part online for 24 hours

Prepare yourself for roughly five and a half minutes of footage that will make you wish you were Jake Blauvelt – his full part is available to view for 24 hours. In what will come as a shock to precisely no-one anywhere, the part sees Jake tearing up pristine powder fields under a blue sky, and blasting through pillow-heeacvy tree runs under flat light.

The filming is glorious, his style is flawless throughout, and he even boshes out a tidy front 9 to show that he’s not just a soul surfer. The soundtrack comes courtesy of that man David Bowie once again – seemingly, his back catalogue is to modern backcountry parts what Radiohead’s was to Absinthe films of the early ’00s…

You can also now buy this via iTunes for the paltry sum of £1.99. Yes, a lot of rider parts are free these days, but Jake isn’t pocketing the cash himself. All proceeds will to towards The Mountain Light Project, a foundation that provides opportunities for young people that have the drive and the passion for snowsports, but who lack the funds. All things considered, it’s not a bad way to throw a couple of quid towards a good cause…

Look out for an exclusive interview with Jake about the Mountain Light Project in a future issue of Whitelines.
