If you gloss over the fact that it sits just 20km away from the contentious Pakistan – Indian border, Gulmarg could well be classed as the most exotic place to snowboard. Home to the world’s highest gondola (3,979 meters), with an optional hike to a massive 4,124 meters, Gulmarg gets rewarded with the best snow in the Himalayas. With much of its terrain sitting off piste and graced with a total of 18 bowls, Gulmarg has made its way onto the hit list of many die hard freeriders.
