ROME 390 BOSS BINDINGS REVIEW

Price: £195
Flex: 5
Sizes: S-M / L-XL
Entry system: Classic

Rome’s 390 Boss is one of the Vermont-based company’s best-sellers. This year’s version is packed with tech, including Rome’s ‘Yes I Cant’ canted footbed system. Unlike many other bindings, the angle of the cant (or slope) on the footbed is adjustable (a process Rome reckon is “quick-as-f**k”) so you can choose the level of lean you want. If you’re a freerider, you may want to crank it up to 3.5 degrees, if you’re more into jibbing, you may want slightly less.

We’ve rated this binding a 5/10 for flex, which indicates that it’s an all-rounder, suitable for most rider and terrain types. It’s possibly a little bit on the stiff side for out-and-out jibbers, but piste cruisers and those wanting to hit bigger jumps will appreciate the extra support and response it offers. One tester said it was “well worth recommending to all rider types”.
