Endeavor Color 2015-2016 Snowboard Review

Canuck classic

The Details:

A longtime staple of the Canadian brand’s line, the Endeavor Color returns for this winter largely unchanged.

There is one glaring difference, of course; this year Endeavor have become the first snowboard company to license Burton’s ‘Channel’ system, giving users of the Color – and all Endeavor boards, for that matter – the option to mount Burton’s EST bindings. However, if you prefer a pair that use classic discs, they’ll still work too.

Endeavor like to keep things simple, with an easy-to-follow matrix of nine men’s boards. While all are true twins, each has its own unique specs that set them apart from one another. The Color is essentially flat with a light rocker coming in towards the tips, and has a sintered base that won’t come up short when it’s time to charge.

The sidewalls are infused with urethane, and has been bonded with the core to further dampen chatter. Last year’s addition of carbon has been carried over for 2015/16, running the length of the board to increase pop – which flat boards tend to lack – and strength.

What that all means is that, while this will be most at home in the park, it has what you need for exploring the whole mountain too.

TESTER’S VERDICT:
Ed Blomfield – Whitelines

“This year’s Endeavor Color is pretty similar to previous versions; it’s still quite soft from tip to tail, which makes it great for buttering around and pressing on boxes and rails.

Torsionally, however, it’s quite stiff, so unlike similarly-flexing boards it holds a straight line really well and charges through crud and slush. The trade-off is that it’s a little slow from edge to edge, compounded by the fact that it’s quite wide.

Riders with bigger feet will love it, but those looking for quick carves probably won’t. The Color would best suit someone who prioritises freestyle over riding the piste.”
