The Details:

The Rome Targa is the binding you’ll find wrapped around the feet of Norwegian slopestyle hero Stale Sandbech – in fact, he’s even got his own signature colourway for it.

It’s certainly robust enough for his unique brand of high-end freestyle, with an aluminium chassis that makes for quick edge-to-edge response while also offering some side-to-side flex.

This is compounded by the ‘V Rod’ baseplate, which features a channel of contact with the board under each foot that run between the edges, while the rest of the binding is raised up.

There’s lots you can do to get the exact setup you want too; for starters, the footbed can either be kept flat, or angled (aka “canted”) to 2.5 degrees. You can also fully rotate the highback, so you’ll always get perfect alignment with your heel edge even if you favour a maxed-out duck stance.

The highback itself is made out of two different parts, which have different properties. When you’re cruising, it gobbles up vibrations for a smooth ride, but when you really want to crank out high-speed jet-fighter turns it’s stiff and ultra-responsive.

Top it off with comfortable, easy-to-adjust straps and you’ve got a winner that will suit the more adventurous riders out there.
