- History lesson: Engineer Howard Head (that’s a great name isn’t it?) started this company as a ski brand in 1950. He was soon shocking the conservative world of ski manufacturing with his use of innovative tech and new materials. The company that bears his name has continued to push the boat out with some of the super-tech ideas they’ve carried over to their boards. With access to the kind of research and development that most snowboard companies can only dream of, their boards get pretty crazy.
