Dragon 2013/2014 goggles preview

We caught up with Dragon’s product director Mike Tobia at ISPO to get the lowdown on the key stories for their 2014 line:

Dragon x Nike collab APX goggle

Dragon were one of the first goggle brands to introduce the ‘frameless’ goggle design that has become so popular over the last couple of seasons. They initially launched with the spherical lensed, oversized APX goggles a couple of seasons back and followed those up with the smaller APXs goggles this past winter. For next season, Dragon have teamed up with Nike for a limited run of collab APX goggles that are gonna be a surefire hit – especially when riders like Halldor Helgason and Jed Anderson are rocking ’em.

The APX goggles feature a unique frameless injected moulded polycarbonate lens that can be removed in seconds, triple layer face foam with a hypoallergenic lining for a comfortable fit and armoured frame ventilation.

NFX Goggle

The striking new NFX goggles are a cylindrical take on the APX and are oversized, retro looking and in our opinion, pretty badass (if you can pull ’em off…). Expect to spot them all over the hill next winter.

D1 Goggle

The D1 goggle is a new style for 2014 and is essentially a slightly larger version of the classic D2. The D1 features a cylindrical lens for maximum peripheral view and comes in a bunch of colourways, including camo, which, if you hadn’t got the memo, is back – in a big way.

Gigi Rüf Rogue Goggle

As a certified legend, Gigi Rüf gets another special colourway on the Rogue goggles (a medium fit spherical lens model) that features a poppy watercolour graphic and his own spin on the Dragon logo.
