They say: A reliable ride for all-demands.
We say: Pitched at the cheaper end of the market, this is nonetheless a well made board, with a range of features designed to make it an easy ride – from the great edge hold provided by the camber to the bevelled edges.
Tester says: Soft-flexing and easy to ride. Not the quickest board, but at this price who cares.

About Atomic

  • Buiding boards since: 2001
  • HQ: Altenmarkt, Austria
  • History lesson: Atomic, which was started in 1955, has got to be one of the oldest companies on this list. Founded by the Austrian Alois Rohrmoser in a wheelwright’s workshop in Wagrain, the company made some of the best skis in the world during the sixties, seventies and eighties. They pretty quickly outgrew that wheelwright’s workshop in Wagrain, and now operate their very own factory in Altenmarkt. In 1992 they decided to start making their first snowboards as Oxygen, but eventually they scraped this in favour of Atomic Snowboarding.
  • Ridden by: Riders who are looking for real good quality boards at a price that won’t break the bank – people who let their riding do the talking. And Johno Verity.
