In her early twenties Elena Hight is already a two-time Olympian in snowboard halfpipe. At the age of 13 she was the first woman to land a 900 in competition in 2002. More recently, in 2013, she became the first snowboarder to land a double backside alley-oop rodeo in Superpipe competition at the X Games in Aspen, Colorado.
Coming from a gymnastic background, Elena’s acrobatic skills transferred over to the snow when she started riding at the age of six. A few years later she burst onto the competition scene and has been pusing the standard of women’s halfpipe riding ever since. She’s medalled at five X Games events and has placed sixth and tenth in the past two Olympic halfpipe competitions. Having been on top of the pipe scene for the past decade and upping her game in the past two years, she’s now a gold medal contender at the Sochi Olympics in 2014.
Outside of snowboarding Elena lives an active and healthy lifestyle where yoga, surfing and cooking are just three of her main passions. She regularly posts fitness guides and healthy recipes on her website and would you believe it but for breakfast she has two egg whites and one full egg scrambled with lots of vegetables. Although not quite as egg-citing as a full English is probably eggs-tremly healthier. However, she has a weak spot for chocolate and apparently she eats quite a lot of it. That’s ok though because it’s all part of a healthy diet and as an Olympic athlete she obviously gets lots of eggs-ercise. I’ll get my coat.
