Unshaped Clark Accidentally Sets New Trend in Board Design

We’ve had all sorts over the years when it comes to board design: regular camber, reverse camber, flat and wavy edges, but we doubt anyone saw the latest revolution coming.

Stan Marks from Beaverton, CO recently bought a YES Clark ‘Shape It Yourself’ model but not having a jigsaw to hand, simply never got round to cutting his own design. When friends invited him to the mountains for a weekend he grabbed the oblong board as it was, and accidentally triggered a new design trend.

“I’d just scorpioned on the draglift when this marketing guy asked me where I got the board,” he explains. “Now I hear they’ve scrapped sidecuts from the whole of next year’s range.”

Industry insiders predict big things for the innovation, christened ‘Flat Earth Technology’. “We’ve had as much as 20% growth forecast if we can successfully integrate the benefits of straight edges into our line,” claimed one source. “The main issue now is getting enough team riders on square boards and in the public eye.”
