Snowboxx: a brand new music and wintersports festival

We bloody love winter festivals. Coffee and a croissant in the morning, followed by some snowboarding on the hill, some Jaegermeister, some slightly less stable snowboarding on the hill, being drawn towards the sounds of some filthy Euro cheese dance tunes, more Jaegermeister, dancing on tables, falling off tables, more Jaegermeister, stumbling back to anyone’s room but your own, bye bye Jaegermeister… and so on and so forth. They’re a lot of fun.

Well the good news for all you winter sports party lovers is that there’s a brand new one going down this March (22nd to the 28th) in a resort that has apparently been dubbed ‘Ibiza on ice’. Arinsal is tucked away in the snowy hills of Andorra and the bars and nightclubs there take full advantage of its duty-free status to sell spirits and beer at rock bottom prices. Cheap booze FTW.

The organisers have promised night time DJ sets on an open air terrace, a Snowboxx-only night at the 1,500 capacity Surf nightclub, pub crawls, BBQ’s and much more. They are also working with promoters in Andorra, Ibiza and Mallorca to finalise a line-up of quality DJ’s that will be a blend of big name acts mixed with up and coming talent.

Prices start at £199.99 which includes a five day lift pass for Arinsal and the neighbouring resorts of Pal and Arcalis, six nights accommodation and a festival wristband. Those with a larger budget can stay in four star, half-board accommodation for £329.99. Flights are not included but the organisers (Mainstage) will be offering a coach service for £140.
