According to a BBC report, the next Paralympics could see the introduction of head-to-head boardercross races and maybe even a banked slalom event for the snowboard competitors.

After the success of the first Paralympic snowboard events in Sochi last month the IPC are looking at ways to further the sport for the next event in Pyeongchang 2018. Para-snowboard cross is gnarly as it is, racing against a live competitor will surely up the stakes and make the sport even better to watch.

And sick is the potential for a banked slalom event too? It would be rad for regular riders to get an event like that at a major event, but it’s even better that for once disability sport might actually get to lead the charge!

Those are all the details we have for now, but we’re as stoked as anything to see if this turns out in time for 2018!
