New Wave of Funding for GB Snowboard Team

Team GB looking more than twice as nice for the next Olympics

Great news! After Team GB’s freeski and snowboard success in Sochi this year UK Sport – the Olympic’s primary funding body – have agreed to increase the team’s funding by £3.3 million, almost quadrupling the total to £4.89 mil.

Sterling stuff – not only has Jenny Jones and co potentially inspired a new generation of competition shredders but the foundations are now in place for the team to build on their achievements and get seriously set up for 2018’s Pyeongchang Games.

Although Ms Jones won’t be competing herself, it’s likely that Jamie Nicholls, Billy Morgan and Aimee Fuller all might have another games in them, and with up and coming rippers like Rowan Coultas, Jamie Trinder and Katie Ormerod coming up through the ranks there’s no denying there might be serious medal potential from the UK next time round.

Congrats guys! The team as a whole couldn’t deserve it more, bring on Korea!
