Helgason Brothers sign for Skullcandy

Headphone manufacturers Skullcandy have scored a bit of a coup by signing not one, but both of the Helgason brothers to their team.

The Icelandic rippers have been killing it this season – Eiki, who has been part of the Rome International Team for a little while, was part of the crew that won the Transworld Team Shootout. But it’s his younger brother Halldor who’s really made a splash. Not only did the kid produce a sick section for Standard Films’ Black Winter, he also put down (in our opinion) the best part in Factor Films’ They Came From (which you can watch here).

Oh, and he also won the US X-Games BIg Air with a backside double cork 10 so perfect that the judges were forced to give it a score of 50 out of 50. Watch it here, it’s insane how relaxed he looks!

Understandably, Skullcandy is pretty stoked to have the brothers on board. Erik Abrahamsson, Skullcandy Europe’s marketing director, said: “I’ve been watching the Helgasons the last two years, seeing them evolving into the dynamic duo that they now have become.” On top of all their contest and video part radness, the Icelandic brothers have a pretty cool blog, helgasons.com, where they post videos, piss-around parts, and all sorts of other shit. They’ve recently relaunched it, and it’s getting pretty popular by the look of things. Skullcandy are sponsoring the site as well as the riders. As Halldor says: “We’re super-stoked Skullcandy decided to support helgasons.com. With their help we will soon be bigger than Facebook!”

To celebrate the hookup, Halldor produced this little clip at the recent Winter X-Games in Tignes. You can watch more stupid stuff like this at helgasons.com. Seriously, check the site out, it’s pretty amusing…
